So, we have a smart phone APP. You knew that right? (This is your cue to download it right now.)
One of the gentlemen to design our app, as well as being a genius, is a musician. His name is Devin, and he personally gave tutorials and a live demo at our App Release Party in 2011.

Now, he’s in a band called LOVELECTRIC. They’re doing well in The Break Contest right now, which started out with a lot of bands that competed at a lot of different venues based on region. LOVELECTRIC made it to the final round. 20 bands now compete for a slot on the main stage of Skate & Surf festival. The final round is held at Encore Event Center in Freehold on Saturday May 4th. Tickets are $12 and they claim they will hand-deliver the tickets to anyone who wants them anywhere in NJ.

This year marks the long awaited return of Skate & Surf, a legendary festival in its own right, and will feature this year such bands as Fall Out Boy, Saves the Day, A Day to Remember, T. Mills, RX Bandits, Streetlight Manifesto, Bayside, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Best of luck to LOVELECTRIC. This band is truly Tryin’ To Get It All.

We try our best to support our supporters. It’s more important to us that we make real connections than just t-shirt sales. This often requires us to go outside the office and show the love in person.

A particular recent supporter of ours is the talented Alyse DeSimone. She’s studies Art and Graphic Design at Monmouth University. When she alerted us to the Monmouth Senior Art show, we had to check it out.

Alyse had an awesome display, featuring digital drawings, a mockup movie poster, t-shirts, and… (ready for this?) …a surfboard. She has talent and drive, to say the least. To see her work, visit www.alysedesimone.com.

We were impressed by so many of the artists there that night, from their ideas to their execution. Some other names to check out are Christina Mantak, Henry Stankiewicz, Rachel Durante, Christine Chimento, Emily Meissner, and Mecal Lindsey. All of these people are smart, creative, and stylish, which is exactly what it takes to make it in the graphic arts field.

Best of luck to you all, from all of us here at www.karmacartel.com!

We’ve always been Beastie Boys fans, and love singing “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” out loud in the car. On Thursday, March 14th, however… we were singing “No Sleep Until You Get Home From Brooklyn.”

We were invited to a show at Matchless in Green Point, Brooklyn by a longtime supporter of ours, recording artist David DiGioia. Dave recently started a new hip-hop project called Watkin’s Empire. ( https://www.facebook.com/WatkinsEmpire ) We brought our threads up to New York for the first time, and set up shop with the Watkin’s Empire merch table.

The Watkin’s Empire set consisted of live electric guitar and rhymes over programmed beats. It was something a little different, which we’re all about. Plus, the venue was packed all night. Overall, we had a fantastic time, and left behind our mark… outside on the traffic light post. When all was said and done, we got home around 4am. It was worth it.

November 7th, 2012

As you know, Karma Cartel was founded on the Jersey Shore. We’ve had three great years of culture, fashion, art, and even partying. At the end of every day, however, we still believe in Karma, so we try to be as charitable as we can and give back to the community we as a company grew up in.

Recently, our beloved shoreline has be devastated by Hurricane Sandy (Maybe you’ve heard of her). Families have been left without homes, food, and power. Some have even lost their loved ones. The Jersey Shore has been officially declared a disaster site.

This photo was taken from the site of the Los Angeles Times. It is of Seaside Heights, a mile away from where we live.

We are still a small company, but we decided it was time for us to step in and give what we could afford. For the entire month of November, half of everything we make at www.karmacartel.com is going to be donated directly to families left struggling in the wake of this terrible storm. A lot of our fans and followers are from different parts of the world, from Australia to the UK, and from all corners of the United States. Some of you have reached out and asked how you can help. Here’s one way you can.

In addition to the donation of our sales, we are also organizing a cleanup effort for later this month/ early December. We will be looking for strong hands and big hearts to go directly to the disaster sites and shelters and help out in any way we can. Seeing as we are a clothing company, we will also hold a clothing drive. If you are interested in being a part of our crew, please email us at karmacartelclothing@gmail.com.

Thank you so much for reading.
Please share this message. Let’s work together to help.
