We’ve always been Beastie Boys fans, and love singing “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” out loud in the car. On Thursday, March 14th, however… we were singing “No Sleep Until You Get Home From Brooklyn.”

We were invited to a show at Matchless in Green Point, Brooklyn by a longtime supporter of ours, recording artist David DiGioia. Dave recently started a new hip-hop project called Watkin’s Empire. ( https://www.facebook.com/WatkinsEmpire ) We brought our threads up to New York for the first time, and set up shop with the Watkin’s Empire merch table.

The Watkin’s Empire set consisted of live electric guitar and rhymes over programmed beats. It was something a little different, which we’re all about. Plus, the venue was packed all night. Overall, we had a fantastic time, and left behind our mark… outside on the traffic light post. When all was said and done, we got home around 4am. It was worth it.
